Blackpool

Blackpool was once a favourite place of mine, where I would visit for a night or two with a huge group of family and friends when I was about 10 years old. Over 10 years later my Nanna requested that a few of us go back for a night this summer, so we decided to drive down and stay over in the Blackpool Football Club hotel. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it as much as I did when I was younger, because it was a much more popular place then and obviously I have changed quite a lot since I was 10, the same things that I enjoyed then have changed now. All week the weather had been really lovely, and of course the weekend comes when we are due to set off to Blackpool and it begins to pour down. We tried not to let it stop us doing things, we really wanted to go to the Blackpool Pleasure Beach on the Saturday but unfortunately due to the rain being so heavy it was just not possible, so this is going to be one of the shortest posts ever.

We decided to head over to the Blackpool Tower on the Friday after we checked into the hotel, it had stopped raining (for about half an hour) so we had a look round the outside then proceeded to go inside to the ballroom.

The ballroom in the tower is really beautiful, during the day a piano player plays music and people can get up and dance on the ballroom floor, which was really nice to watch, some of the dancers were really professional! You can also get afternoon tea there whilst watching the dancers, we didn't this time but looking around at other people that had, the cakes looked really lovely. Theres also a bar with alcoholic drinks available if thats more your thing!
On the Friday night we decided to go to see Funny Girls, and it lived up to its name. The dancers were great and DJ Zoe was hilarious, keeping the crowd entertained in the breaks between the dancing. The stage was absolutely beautiful, and everything was pink! Which I thoroughly enjoyed and had to take a photo of.
Please feel free to leave any comments, especially if you have been to Blackpool before and have had a similar experience!

  1. I've never been to Blackpool before, but I remember it being a much more popular attraction when I was younger too! I'm not sure if I'd want to go now, I think Liverpool is above it on my UK travel bucket list

  2. I absolutely adore Blackpool. The drive there from where I live I am not keen on though. I can't wait to visit there again soon as it truly is an amazing place. Everyone just seems far more content and chill. Far more than living in the south lol. Thank you for making this post, just brings back some lovely memories for me. https://jas-ell.blogspot.co.uk/
